In English · responsibility in hard times
The decision is made. You still carry the consequences.
Redundancies, closures and restructurings are decided at a table. They are felt for a long time afterwards in the mind and body of the leader. This page explains how evening sessions with an authorised psychologist can work for leaders in Randers.
Before, during and after
Before a hard decision, you hold knowledge that changes other people’s lives and must carry on as normal in the meeting room. During it, you have difficult conversations while keeping an organisation together. Afterwards, those who stay look at you, and those who leave may be met in town. Nobody asks how you are, because you are the one who decided.
Responsibility and guilt
The two resemble each other but are not the same. You can be fully responsible for a decision, know it was necessary, and still feel what it cost. The sessions can make room to tell the two apart. They do not excuse the decision or tell you how to feel. They help you understand what you carry and how to carry it without losing yourself.
You do not need a finished explanation or a plan. It is enough to say that this weighs more than you admit.
Language and format
In Mørke
Sessions can be held in English, both online and in Mørke on Djursland. From Randers it is roughly 25 to 35 minutes by car. Evening sessions in Mørke are a real option: you leave the town where colleagues and former employees may turn up, and arrive home with some air between the session and the evening.
Online
Online works as a supplement when you travel or the week leaves no room for the drive. You need a stable connection and a place where nobody can overhear you. Either way you have a fixed weekly evening slot and the same psychologist throughout.
Who it is for
Typical clients are directors, managers, owner-managers and other leaders who have to make decisions that land on other people, including those with an international background. The conversations are psychological, not legal advice and not an analysis of the decision itself.
The psychologist
Frank is an authorised psychologist (authorisation ID 0H2Y3, which you can check in the official register). He trained at Aarhus University in 2005 and was authorised in 2011. He has worked as a crisis psychologist and clinical lead, and has been CEO of a high-tech, venture-funded start-up, with international sales and scaling. He has carried responsibility for strategy, finances and staff in both public and private organisations.
His approach is integrative and humanistic, with relational, narrative and existential perspectives and cognitive behavioural therapy. The sessions are covered by his duty of confidentiality.
